About Andy and Fergus

Andy Harris – Trumpet

Music has always been a great love of Andy Harris from an early age.

“After playing principal trumpet in the Leicestershire Arts Symphony Orchestra, I continued my studies at the Birmingham Conservatoire under Andy Culshaw. In my final year I won the Alfred Corfield; Trumpet Prize. My musical career has been very varied, playing a range of pop and classical music, both in the United Kingdom and Europe.

"I recently completed a Master’s degree in Music Performance at Sheffield University gaining a Distinction. Currently, I am a Music Leader for brass, in schools with Sheffield Music Hub, in addition to performing in a range of events and functions.”

Fergus Black – Piano

Fergus Black was born in Scotland. After taking his degree at St. Andrews University, he studied music in the USA at the University of Pennsylvania and at UCLA, before returning to the UK. He is semi-retired, and chooses to play in concerts he enjoys with people he likes, and teaches only a few hours each week. He continues to conduct the Peterborough Take Note Community Choir and the St Martin’s Singers. He lives in Peterborough with his wife, Helen.
